Shur Wheelock spoke at the Congregational church in Carlos last Sunday. Mr and Mrs Raymond Whitney of Chelsea visit for the holiday. Lewis Fallin and family stay at Holyoke over the holiday. Patriot’s Day parades attract many city residents. Miss Rite Potter of Boston visits relatives here over the weekend. Mrs A C Starbard of Boston visits friends in the city. John Graham moves to a cottage on East M street. Mrs Herbert W Angier recovers from bronchitis and tonsillitis at home.
Miss Huth Sweeney spent the day with her sister Mrs Edward Louehlin. Mira Anny from Boston was a holiday guest of Miss St Chandler. James Coldwell, ill with pneumonia, is improving. A village correspondent reports on a local 1945 event noting the effort and pride of volunteers who organized the day’s exercises, praising energy and cooperation.
The Concord Woman's Club held its annual meeting Friday afternoon and elected officers for the coming year. Reelected president is Mrs Carrie Be Terris who has led with popularity. New and continuing officers include First Vice President Mrs Atma Bh Walker Second Vice President Mrs Minnie W Gardner Treasurer Mrs Mabel C Nolan Recording Secretary Mrs Dortrude Th Goddard Corresponding Secretary Mrs Bertha M Wright Auditors Mrs Sarah C Pratt and Mrs Josephine I Brown Directors for two years include Mrs Louise Shaw Mrs Charlotte Connor and Mrs Margaret A Shepard.
Concord high school and Concord Junction met in a Wednesday practice game as Lof tus held the visitors to four hits. The H. S. nine won four to one with Whiel managing the Concord Junction lineup and a forthcoming full account in the Junction columns.
