Medill McCormick Sees European City Governance Compared
Medill McCormick of Chicago tours Europe to study city government. He notes European cities are better kept up and more efficiently run, with unified authority in councils, and contrasts this with the American division of powers that he says creates friction and political machines. He cites Compiegne as an example of efficient governance and funding. He argues Americans should learn from European models in city management and governance.
