Jury Disagrees in Wappenstein Bribe Trial
In Seattle the jury in the former Chief of Police Chas W Wappenstein case reported a deadlock after over a day of deliberation. They split seven to five for acquittal on an indictment alleging a $1000 bribe to allow Gerald and Tupper to run disorderly houses. The majority cited defects in the State case. No further prosecutions are anticipated based on the same indictments.

Dr. A W Leudeers was arrested on perjury charges by Attorney Venn Snider after a 35000 judgment in favor of John Forsgren for malpractice. At a preliminary hearing Judge Tucker set 500 bail. question arose over a 1200 draft sent to Portland Feb 11 1911 versus Leuders earlier claim of never sending it. The court bound Leuders over to superior court.
