Division Case Hears Jurisdiction On Grays Harbor Creations

Superior Judge Rice will hear counsel tomorrow in Chehalis on whether the court has jurisdiction under the act creating Grays Harbor county. Attorneys Ashton Abel for antis, Preston Murphy Hogan Agnew for divisionists. If jurisdiction is found and petition meets law, Chehalis county must have 4000 population for the governor to issue the proclamation creating the county.

Aberdeen Boots Go Five From Six Against Seattle

In Seattle the Aberdeen Brownies swept a six game set with Seattle Smashes winning 5 to 3 on June 7 and 7 to 4 on June 8, with Brinker and Householder homering and Aberdeen’s Higginbotham and Allen handling pitching duties. The Aberdeen Boosters cheered on with a brass band and a purse presented after a clutch homer by Higginbotham. The series closed June 9 with Aberdeen prevailing 8 to 5 as fans packed Electric Park for the finale.

Aberdeen Fans Journey to Seattle for Baseball Victory

Almost two hundred Aberdeen boosters rode 266 miles by rail to see the home team defeat Seattle. The excursion was a social, promotional, and financial success with a 14 member brass band, free food and cigars, and banners for the Fourth of July. The train stopped at Montesano Satsop Elma Porter and Oakville en route where handouts were distributed. The trip returned to Aberdeen at 1 am and the town gained valuable advertising beyond the expedition’s cost.
