More than 150 club women and invited guests attended the Chehalis County Federation of Women's Clubs annual meeting at Knights of Pythias hall. Officers were elected for the coming year and a luncheon followed the program featuring solos and a reading from The Return of Peter Grimm. The group adjourned to plan the quarterly meeting in Elma.

Best Sentinel. Nutter Sergeant. Ladies installed Mrs Geo Sell Commander and others. A literary program and supper followed for about 150 guests.
Hoquiam residents anticipate a lively 1913 season as the Hoquiam Motorcycle club opens its new club rooms on the second floor of the Isensee building in I Street. The formal opening is set for Monday night February 3 with an engaging program planned for all members.

Hoquiam January 30 R R Risler a Northern Pacific breakman fell while crossing the Hoquiam River bridge Monday night injuring his right ankle He was taken to the hospital and later removed to the New York hotel for treatment.
The Chehalis County Democratic Central Committee launched the Democratic Party of Chehalis County to unite progressive voters under the banner Equal Rights for All. An executive committee of nine, led by J. J. Carney as president, prepared membership cards and bylaws for 65 precinct organizers within a week.
After organizing the Democratic Party of Chehalis County the county central committee endorsed several candidates for state and federal roles. A resolution declared endorsements would be based on applicant democracy while qualifications rest with appointing powers. Dr S L Monk of Montesano was endorsed for the State Dental Board, A J Harder of Cosmopolis for State Hotel Inspector, and John J Carney for Aberdeen postmaster.
Aberdeen observers report unusually low interest as four filed candidates anchor the mayoral race. In the Sixth ward a mass meeting aimed to nominate a council challenger to Oscar Perala, the socialist nominee, drew weak turnout and sparked talk of another opponent against J. H.
