Mother and Babe Buried in Rites at St Mary’s Church
Funeral services for Mrs George W Makurath and her infant were held at St Mary’s Catholic church this morning. A large cortege followed to the cemetery as mourners paid their respects. Mrs Tessie Carey Makurath, born December 8 1877 in Lebanon Wisconsin, married in 1903 to Mr Makurath of Aberdeen. She is survived by her husband, parents Mr and Mrs Thomas C Carey, and sisters Miss Nellie Carey of Spokane and another sister in Fondu Lac Wisconsin.

Fire alarms report minor damage in Aberdeen homes
A noon fire alarm stemmed from a slight blaze in a dwelling owned by Mrs Dorthy Crowthers at Eighth and I streets and occupied by Mrs Gage. An overheated hot air furnace set the floor alight, causing nominal damage. Earlier, a chimney fire at Summit and Newell streets in a home occupied by Mrs Northup caused very slight damage.
