Millard Lemon reports rapid progress on a line linking the Blakely and Peninsular roads, giving Shelton its first outside rail access. About fifty workers clear rights of way and lay rails. a 800 foot Satsop river bridge is the main engineering hurdle. The line could enable log and lumber shipments from Shelton via the Northern Pacific spur from Elma by next summer.
