Gasoline motor car service expands routes in Chehalis county
A new gasoline motor car started yesterday between Hoquiam Aberdeen Montesano Elma and McCleary. J B Benson prompted officials to install the service which mirrors regular train fares with McCleary at 85 cents. The car runs about 34.5 miles per hour with 60 mile capacity, making trips in a half day to McCleary nine miles from Elma and Summit on the old Northern Pacific line. The McCleary Lumber Company, named for Henry McCleary, operates a large door factory and holds timber to sustain decades of work in Chehalis county.

Preliminary north side jetty work has begun with a small crew preparing machinery for the season. Overhauls to locomotives and dredging of the dock will enable barge landings, as nearly 1 million tons of rock were blasted at the Tenino quarry. Grays Harbor Construction Co. of Hoquiam has erected two derricks and is building two 650 ton barges to move rock to the jetty under Junior Engineer E L Carpenter who will lead the effort when weather clears.

New Chehalis County Chamber of Commerce Formed
Adoption of the constitution and by laws of Chehalis County Chamber of Industry and Commerce was taken up at the Saturday executive session. Hoquiam and Aberdeen have joined the new organization with others. The chamber will represent Chehalis county with one delegate per 100 members or fraction thereof and dues by county population.
