Aberdeen Pioneer J W Carey Dies at 70
J W Carey longtime Aberdeen resident died Monday evening after a prolonged illness. Funeral arrangements set for this afternoon at Whiteside's Undertaking parlors with Rev J T McQueen delivering the sermon. Born in Sparta Indiana about 70 years ago he helped build Aberdeen and ran several businesses in regional cities. Survived by wife and four children Mrs C W Stine of Hoquiam Mrs Arthur Beckenhauer Edith Carey and Frank Carey of Seattle.

Jury in Bealey case ends in hung verdict in Aberdeen
After over 12 hours of deliberation the jury could not reach a unanimous verdict in the Bealey suit against Aberdeen city officials for 15000 dollars alleging false imprisonment. The case arose after Bealey was jailed following the Grays Harbor Ship Chandlery fire and a logger's death. Aberdeen youth Jack Fournier has been purchased by James Callahan for the Boston Americans. He learned the game on Aberdeen sawdust lots, rose through the Northwest league with Bob Brown, then the Pacific Coast league before joining Boston and farmed out in the Twilight league where he starred last season.
