Johnathan M. Hunter died this morning at his daughter’s home 305 East First Street in his ninety sixth year after a lingering illness. He was born January 16 1818 in Windsor Vermont and would have turned 96 next month. He served in the Canadian Indian war in the 1830s and three Civil War years as a sergeant. A former Great Lakes captain, he moved to Wisconsin in 1856 and to Aberden six years ago to live with Mrs. Crowther. He is survived by brothers A J Hunter of Spokane and G E Hunter of Monroe Washington and by two daughters Mrs H H Haas of Spokane and Mrs C C Chapel of Beloit Kansas.
