The leather covers cheap gloves to high grade leather goods and gloves are now in full production. Four Men Heavily Fined For Killing Deer In Montesano
In Montesano on December 16, four men Ben Pierce Jesse Armett John Carrigan and J Gailey were fined in superior court by Judge Ben Sheeks for killing two deer in their possession. Game Warden A L Elmer detained them near Cedar Creek Oakville and Justice Pettyjohn bound them over to the Superior court for 1000 dollars each. Bail defaults sent them to jail. Captain Thomas Stream, famed master who survived a wreck in South America, left for Seattle to take charge of the schooner Edward West.

Desire for Diamonds Gets Two in Trouble
Doris and Frank Chaney were arrested in Tacoma on a robbery warrant and brought to the city. After a preliminary hearing they were bound over to the superior court and jailed without bail. Irwin testified he showed the rings, one valued at 89 dollars, to another party who then took them from the table and was later sold to T. J. Thomas. The Chaneys waived the hearing and expect to be bound over. Mrs. Chaney is expected to offer a differing account on the witness stand.

Bridge Tenders Arrested on Assault Charge
West toll bridge tenders J B Gould and Oscar Gould were arrested on a warrant sworn by W Rutherford after Rutherford was beaten on the head and face while crossing the bridge. Rutherford says he was passing when the Goulds grappled, tore his coat and the younger Gould struck him with an ax handle. The case will be before Police Judge Tucker today.

Officials report dredging the Chehalis channel below Hoquiam with freshets to Aberdeen and the sea. A vessel can load at local mills and steam out with a loaded draft of 28 feet 6 inches. The channel over the bar has not shifted and a steamer drawing 23 feet 6 inches can reach the sea at ordinary tide.
