Combes building progress and fair visits noted

Work on the Combes building advances as Mrs J S Kne of Seattle visits her sister. Citron Fired Geordi recovers from paralysis while Mr amrs Will Combes travels to Ponigud for the fair. Residents attend events at the fair and local travel continues.

Local notes from town and surrounding area

Roy Hughes returned from the fair. Arthur Devonshire of Montesano was in town Monday. Threshing season is here and grain is yielding well. Alice Myers, recently seriously ill, is recovering. School opens September 18 and preparations begin. Rev. W. E. Thompson of Aberdeen visited his brother Samuel last week.

Fatal Accident at Burrows Camp Claims William Bird

William Bird, a 40 year old logger with C. E. Burrows Co., was fatally injured Friday at Humptulips river when caught between moving legs in the Burrows Camp. He died shortly after arriving at Aberdeen General hospital, leaving no Pacific coast relatives. a brother in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, was notified as his remains lay at Beardsley Bros. undertaking parlors awaiting burial instructions.

County Board of Equalization Finishes Labor, Raises Mils
