EK J Arnold's Pacific and Oriental Carnival comes to Aberdeen during Carnival Week August 27 to 30 with 75 performers and two exhibitions daily. Features include balloon ascensions Turkish acts acrobats contortionists wire walkers concerts a 500 foot slide and more. Work starts on a new arch at Heron street and Broadway with most booths already booked.
Rate One and one third fares plus 60 cents include one admission coupon to the carnival. Dates sale September 1 3 5 8 9 10 11. Limit seven days from date of sale. N Henperson, Agent.
Aberdeen August 27 to 30 Carnival promotes travel by railroad with a fare of one and one third times the standard rate from Points Centralia to Tacoma via Olympia and Grays Harbor lines. Half fare for children. Ticket sale August 26 and 29. Return until August 31, 1902.

Coronado sailed from Anderson Middleton mill to San Francisco. E B Jackson sailed from Wilson mill to Sidney New South Wales. Henry Wilson and Chas R Wilson load at Wilson mill for San Francisco. Jennie Stella arrived Friday and loads at West & Slade mill for San Francisco. Edward West being rigged and to load next week at West & Slade mill for Fremantle Australia.
At Elma the Republican county convention nominated J R O Donnell for state senator and J A Graham for sheriff while endorsing weatherwax for treasurer and Williams for school superintendent. The second district backed Geo L Davis over M R Sherwood for commissioner, leaving Aberdeen again without a commissioner. The meeting adjourned amid lingering dissatisfaction among reconciliation of anti and pro Ankeny forces.
