In a skeptical critique, S C Hutchins is accused of misrepresenting timber reserves and Weyerhauser dealings. The piece contests estimates of remaining forests, growth, and the extent of syndicate land, arguing figures are inflated and claims false.
Two 11 year old boys Odell Seaborg and A McGraw entered the North Aberdeen Shingle mill while idle and damaged oil worth about 50 dollars, belts, and property. Chief Schneider arrested Seaborg who faced a suspended sentence and possible reform school if misbehavior recurs. McGraw faced no charges.

From Seattle comes word that Puget Sound logging camps will not resume until September 1. The Washington Logging and Brokerage Co. directors took no action to authorize a restart and will not meet for two weeks, delaying reopening until late August. An estimated 200 million feet of logs are held, half by mills, with potential market impact if supply resumes.
The board of education met to approve routine business and prepare for the new school year. Calendar set: opening Sept 3, 1907. holiday recess Dec 20 to Jan 6. closing June 19, 1908. Printing contract awarded to Bulletin company.
A planned evening at the Grand theater features the Rutschow-Matches for 200 dollars prize plus all gate receipts to the winner, a fencing contest between Prof Christol and a Montesano challenger, and a four round bout Joe Butler versus Will Murray. Names include Antonia Zamot King J C Beal L King Christy Browning Hazel Lind Selma Barry and many others. Advertised notices to call for letters will be honored upon request. Also a local testimonial praises Chamberlain s Salve for eczema with Evans Drug Co selling it.
