Mrs J A Woodhurst visits in Laurens from local friends. Birmingham traveler Gus McGee spends day with family. several residents from Greenwood Columbia and Anderson guests or visitors in Laurens. A wide social roundup notes weddings travels and upcoming visits across Laurens and nearby towns.
Mrs Joe Wilson invites friends to a bridge party at her home on South Main Street Thursday morning. A happy time is anticipated.
Miss Katherine Bristow was the honoree at a Friday evening dance hosted by Miss Mary Gray and Miss Mary Hill Harris at Miss Harris home. Music came from a Victrola and refreshments of cream and cake were served.
The Fourth Annual Meeting of the South Carolina Bible Class Federation of the Methodist Episcopal Church South will be July 3 to 5 in Sumter. Last year Spartanburg drew nearly 2,000 attendees. this year lower rail rates should cut costs while representatives from local classes will attend.
Miss Belle Nance of Due West and Miss Eunice Ferguson of Antreville travel to Rock Hill for a two week Winthrop course in demonstration and canning club work. They earned the highest general average for their tomato crop last year with expenses paid.

A quiet wedding united Miss Olive Tim mons and Eulys Stokes of Abbeville at the manse with Rev. Geo A Blackburn presiding. Only family and a few friends attended. the couple will reside in Columbia.
A white and black ivory breastpin set with pearls was lost at the home of Mrs. Wm. P. Greene during a Civic Club gathering two weeks ago. The owner may reclaim it by informing the correct contact.
Mrs W W Bradley issues invitations for a Wednesday night party at her Greenville street home. The event honors her son Billy Bradley who has just returned home after a successful year at Clemson and honors Miss Edna Bradley.
Abbeville mourns Mrs Bessie Bruce Anderson age unknown who died after a brief illness at her Clio home. She was taken to North Carolina for burial beside her husband. Survived by three children and siblings Marion Bruce, Kate Bruce, Robert Bruce, Charlie Bruce, and Johns and Dixie Bruce.
The Presbyterian open air service last Sunday night marked the season’s first and the first ever in Abbeville. A large crowd attended the event. Henry Moseley and Thomas D. Cooley traveled from Lownsville yesterday on business.
