Engineer Ernest G. Owen Dies After Appendicitis Operation
Ernest G. Owen, 39, long time Southern Railway engineer at Salisbury North Carolina, died after an appendicitis operation at Whitehead Stokes Sanitarium. Survived by widow two sons and siblings Will E. Owen Charlie and John Owen Mrs M T Thornton and Mrs Womble. Known as Cotton, he was popular among workers and a Methodist church member. The Salisbury community plans further subscriptions to bolster capital stock for the Chamber of Commerce totaling fifty thousand dollars with most taken soon.

Two Seaplanes Collide in Mid Air Over Gulf
