Miss Fannie Miller eldest daughter of the late Wm Dixon Miller died of consumption at the residence of Mr A F McConnell four miles east of this place on Thursday morning last.

Col LeRoy M McAfee a Cleveland county North Carolina native and 1862 UNC Chapel Hill graduate died of consumption in this place on Tuesday evening at about 10 o clock He served as colonel of the 49th regiment was honored by Gen Lee as a brave soldier He was a presidential elector in 1868 represented Cleveland in 1870 71 and died at age 37 His remains will be buried with Masonic honors at the Methodist church at 10 this morning
