Capt H H Watkins of Anderson nominated by President Wilson to the Western District of South Carolina as federal judge. He married Maude Wakefield in 1892 and has held various political and educational posts.
Michigan passes a law to plant nut bearing and other food producing shade trees along trunk highways. The Highway Commission, Agriculture Commission, Agricultural College, and Public Dominion Commission will oversee planting and distribution of stock at nominal cost.
