Recollections of Smyrna Memory Lane and a Jail Turned Page
A Yorkville Enquirer correspondent recalls Smyrna sixty years ago with a wooden graveyard, a simple church, and Rev. Ross whose sermons stretched long. The piece notes the 1849 1853 wall, the old pulpit, catechism in place of Sabbath school, and a Shinny crowd urged to church.
