Indian Relics of a Battle on the Canadian River Near Eufaula

Relics including a rusty gun barrel and arrowheads, presented to Oliver C Hinkle by Charles Gibson, said to come from a fierce 19th century battle between gold seekers and Wyandotte Indians on the Canadian River near Eufaula. A party of 54 adventurers from New Orleans, aided by a guide, faced Shawnee warriors. many whites were killed and a raft crossing ended in a violent ambush.
