Death of Lady Joly at Government House
Lady Joly, wife of His Honor the Lieut Governor, died at Government House after a long illness. Born July 25, 1837 in Quebec, she married Sir Henri Joly in 1856 and left eleven children, six living. She organized Shakespeare clubs in Quebec and Victoria, was highly esteemed, and her remains were sent to Quebec for interment.
