Notice of water appropriation application in Nevada 1908
On June 1 1908 Alfred Day E F Smith and T B Gambel of Montello Esmeralda Nevada applied to the State Engineer of Nevada for permission to appropriate public waters. The plan uses Cotton Meadow Mount Grant sources and a 1000 miner's inches conveyance by ditch pipe and flume for irrigation mining domestic use and electricity with water returned to the stream. Publication dates Sept 19 1908 and Oct 17 1908. Proof of publication due within 90 days or the application is void.

Weather notes warn of a heavy winter after October snow. Petition to build wagon road from Cottonwood Creek to Yerington gains local support from Danielyn and residents, inviting Yerington merchants to contribute supplies or funds.
