Camp Fire Girls Entertain Thanksgiving Program at High School
Camp Fire Girls hosted a Thanksgiving program on Wednesday afternoon at the High School. Miss Goorwit Littell presided as guests enjoyed two Camp Fire songs, a violin solo by Mr. Durand, readings by Mrs. Howe and Mes. Elbert, and a Thanksgiving recitation by Miss Howe. Vocal solos by Miss Fiway and Prof. Ricksecker were praised, with Mr. Alexander delivering extemporaneous remarks. Rev. Summers led a Thanksgiving prayer, followed by refreshments and social time at the Mister Manwell home.

The funeral of Mrs No Ro Martin was held at the Methodist Church last Sunday afternoon. The Odd Fellows and Rebekahs escorted the remains to the cemetery. Rev Frank Samers delivered a touching sermon and the choir sang hymns. Floral tributes from relatives friends and lodges were numerous. The community extends sympathy to the bereaved family.

Clark Guild of the Lyon County Commercial Club received six medals from Reno for Nevada State Fair exhibits. Gold medals went to the Yerington mine copper ore and Smith Valley Mines Co gold ore, with silvers for mineral and agricultural displays by Lyon County Creamery and Nevada-Douglas mine. The county also earned 22 first, 11 second and 6 third prizes and urged stronger local publicity and advertising to attract visitors and buyers.
