Lenora Jessen of Simpson and Neil Anderson of Gardnerville wed last Wednesday afternoon in Bridgeport with Judge Parker officiating. Attendants were Geo Montrose and wife, Gardnerville. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Jessen, is a popular social figure in the valley. the groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Anderson, runs a motor track business with his brother. They will reside in Gardnerville and are greeted with warm congratulations.

Yerington Varsity Holds Carson to 14 0 In Tough Clash
Yerington high school football battled Carson hard Saturday and kept them scoreless until late second quarter. Carson finally scored on a Malley to Hunting pass for 15 yards in the fourth. Yerington star Mathews broke free several times but strong Carson defense negated many threats. Governor Boyle attended with other state officials and Tom Duckman refereed the game. Thanksgiving plans call for a season finale against the Carson Indians.

Smith Farmers Convene to Choose Delegates for County Meeting
Smith Valley farmers met in Wellington for the regular Farm Bureau session. They selected W. L. Blackwell J. D. Yeager and S. L. Beaman as representatives for the county Farm Bureau meeting on December 13 in Yerington. Miss Barker urged work with Lyon County girls and County Agent Buckman stressed a livestock improvement drive focusing on pure bred hog importation. Seventeen registered Poland China hogs will be shipped to Lyon County next month to promote better livestock and position Lyon as a Poland China center.

Splendid Program by Women’s Club in Yerington
The Yerington Woman's Club met November 19 at Lyon County High School. Mrs Mae Kneimeyer led the musical program with piano solos by Miss Helen Phipps and vocal numbers by Mrs Dukes, Mrs Dixon, Mrs Wyatt, and Miss Anne Gordon. The event featured an encore, social hour, and tea with cakes. The next meeting December 3 will include Christmas greetings and planning for a Community Christmas tree.

Still Raided at Pine Nut Hills Near Gardnerville
Prohibition officers with Reno investigators raided the Pine Nut Power and Development Company known as the Preacher's Mine eight miles southeast of Gardnerville finding a still in operation. Babe Entler and Fred McGrath were arrested with over five gallons of corn whiskey and spirits. they faced a prohibited liquor charge in Justice Court and were bound over for trial. Sheriff Nielsen testified the operation included fermenting mash and a five gallon keg of whiskey. the raid marked the first such seizure in Douglas county this season.
