John Calvin Daniels aged 85 years 9 months 4 days native of New Fain Niagara Co New York died in this valley after moving here in 1863 He engaged in farming and mining including the Blue Stone Mine He left a daughter Mrs W J Wright and a son Albert L at whose home he died Rev George Beatty conducted services He was laid to rest Thursday V C Bernard reported Mountain View and Mason Pass rich strikes and optimism for new ventures in the area
