Owing to farm labor scarcity Mason Valley farmers turn to new side delivery rakes and hay loaders. Local merchants report several sales as the devices roll hay evenly for better curing and faster field work. The rake lifts hay onto wagons and transfers it to stacks, saving about three laborers and boosting farm efficiency.
Wabuska rancher Walter G Warren and Miss Madeline M Blackwell of St Louis were married at the Congregational parsonage in Reto on June 2. The couple began their romance last summer after Warren, a trap expert, participated in the Grand American Handicap event. They plan a coast honeymoon and a stay at Lake Tahoe before settling in Wahurka.
Travel to Lake Tahoe regions rises as Placerville to the lake road opens for the summer season. Officials predict heavier traffic than in prior years as visitors flock to the famed body of water and its resorts.

Seventeen children were awarded certificates for advanced standing as kindergarten classes split into primary and advanced grades at the Methodist Church. Mr Geot and Miss Emma Hed care for the children while W H Rogers christened Eloise Alice Perazzo May Delight Cook Harold Edmund Cook William Stanley Netherton and Norman Joseph Faber with Rev Joseph John assisting at the service.
An amateur group of about thirty performers from Fallon presented an appealing minstrel show on Tuesday night. The solos and dancing drew praise from a sizable crowd. Proceeds benefited the Red Cross, with Mrs. J. E Campbell assisting arrangements and a jitney ride enjoyed afterward.

The Kennedy Consolidated Gold Mining Company property in Luckskin district near Ludwig was sold to John P. Cowan of Salt Lake. Agent Carl Stoddard arranged the deal, with F. Bedford of San Francisco inspecting the mine for Mr. Cowan. The copper rich holdings were previously mined for gold, and plans include a 100 ton flotation plant within six months. The Yerington Indians game against the Schurz Indians was the season’s best effort for our team. A sudden death by own action occurred in Mason within the past week as a person reportedly jumped into Walker River.
