Commercial Club Talks on Drainage
The Commercial club met in the County Court rooms to discuss valley drainage. A. B. Springer was absent, so T. V. Damon was elected to preside. A ditch with a six foot bottom and seven feet deep could cost about 3000 dollars. Joe Wilson said the Farm Bureau has outlined a valley drainage program and J. A. Beemer will survey the valley soon, with federal engineer Mr. Bixby to assist. A drainage district under state law would be organized to work with Walker River Irrigation District, constructing canals and laterals with landowner support for the preliminary survey.
