Clarence Wise found guilty of passing a worthless check was denied a new trial by Judge Hart after arguments by attorney R L Waggoner and District Attorney Guild. Wise must pay 250 dollars fine and 63 dollars costs or face one day in jail for each two dollars of the fine. He posted 313 dollars bond after filing appeal. Waggoner claimed defense witness Clark was intimidated and testimony tampered with, prompting an inquiry urged by District Attorney Guild and court guidance to disclose the reasons.
