About 120 men and horses work at the smelter site with machine shops two houses and a large boarding house nearing completion. Mrs. Mary K. Ross died January 21 after a week of illness from pneumonia. The funeral was January 28 at 1 PM from MoE Church with sermons by Rev. Johns and Rey Beatty. Born 1842 in Scotland near Embro, she married Wim C. Ross and lived in Nevada, Pine Grove, and Werington before settling at Main and Bridge streets. Survived by husband, a daughter Mrs. Chas. Perry, a son Henry Ross, and grandchildren.
