Fallon to Furnish Fresh Cantaloupes From Fallon District
Fallon district will supply Nevada with fresh cantaloupes aided by a refrigerator service to Fallon. About 200 acres have been allotted for cantaloupes in the Lahontan valley this year. Fallon farmers plan to ship twenty to thirty carloads to Chicago and eastern cities and introduce Nevada cantaloupes to the eastern market. Refrigerator cars run Wednesday and Friday afternoons to ensure Thursday and Saturday mornings deliveries.

The bureau of war risk insurance issued rulings liberalizing reinstatement or conversion of lapsed or cancelled war risk term insurance. Those who let policies lapse before January 1, 1922 may reinstate, with no medical exam if within ninety days. Longer lapse requires a medical certificate and two monthly payments at reinstatement.

Dogs Visit Brings Many Breeds to Camp Grounds
A city camp grounds event featured numerous dog breeds owned by Mr and Mrs Af. E. Hindren. At a Lyon County Board of County Commissioners meeting on July 26 a Lyon County Farm Bureau request for a 3500 loan was approved. The board as Equalization raised Lyon County property valuations by 125703 with major increases for Gold Canyon Dredge Company Plymouth Land & Stock Co and Fabri & Co and reductions totaling 48160. The Board will reconvene August 6 to hear property holders affected by changes.

Italian suspect John Tomani, a cook at the Hub restaurant, was arrested after fleeing from Officer Jim Bernard during a nighttime disturbance near residences. Seen near the Bernard home, he was chased and halted by a shot fired in the air. He pleaded not guilty but was found guilty in Judge Phipp's court and fined fifty dollars plus costs. Dangberg Land and Livestock company announced plans to build reservoirs in Alpine country California and irrigate and cultivate large lands in Douglas county.
