Youth Hospitalized After Freight Train Accident at Churchill Station
Harley Skelly, 17, was seriously injured at Churchill Station while attempting to board a fast moving freight. His overcoat caught in a car axle, throwing him to the ground and knocking him unconscious. He regained consciousness in Dayton, slept in a barn, and was found by Sheriff Randall the next day. A medical exam revealed a large scalp wound and multiple bruises. He says he has been mining near Goldfield and was trying to reach his parents in Pasadena, California.
