Mike Waltze Dies After Amputation and Bruise Complication
Mike Waltze, Bridgeport resident, died in Reno Monday after an operation in which his leg was amputated above the knee. Blood poisoning developed from a bruise on his foot. Remains were brought to Bridgeport on Wednesday for the funeral.

W E Casson and F L Wildes of Review Mining Company with Rob Ray and Will Sneathen spent a day at the mine two and a half miles from the railroad station near Schurz. They report bank and boarding houses under construction and a newly purchased truck to be moved to the mine. Day and night shifts have begun in a tunnel following a gold vein expected to cross the lead and silver vein about 200 feet ahead. The V7 company owns the north extension with ore assays from 68 to 185 dollars per ton. Several other gold and silver veins cross the main vein. developments this season should yield good results, and Casson plans another visit soon.

Mrs Lulu Engbloom a longtime Mason valley resident died at her Hawthorne home last Thursday after an appendicitis operation. Ill for months she was treated by Dr B Brown in Yerington then returned to Hawthorne. She leaves a husband two young children John and Fred Parker a mother Mrs Berryman of San Francisco and a brother Tom Berryman of Yerington. A Eureka Nevada native age 39, the funeral was held in Hawthorne with Pythian Sisters assisting.
