City Council Advances Street Plans and New Ordinances

The council approved street grading costs for Sixth Street and a west side boardwalk on Kittitas avenue and considered a cross street assessment change. The sewer plan for Sixth Street faced a leasing request, while 100 numbering per block for free delivery was approved. New ordinances set city grades baseline, licensing theaters at 100 yearly, and dog licenses. A drinking fountain proposal was conditionally approved. Bids for Yakima avenue macadamization favored Burlingame at 10600, with a $5000 bond posted. The stone crusher test drew mixed views, a heavy scraper was proposed, and health nuisances on Front Street were flagged for action.
