A Moral Tale On Subscriptions And Wasted Wealth
A reader notes a tale about a man who avoids subscribing to his home paper while overindulging in foreign copies. A chain of mishaps follows as the man’s bees, fence, cow, churn, teeth, carpet, clothes, and family life are disrupted, illustrating a moral about frugality and priorities. The piece then shifts to commentary on gun ownership and violence, urging enforcement of laws against concealed weapons. It also includes local notices about upcoming sermons, catalog promotions, and a note on Miss Lena Clancey’s return to Tacoma.
