Indians Win Sixth Game at Toppenish
Toppenish Washington June 12 The North Yakima Tigers lost their third straight game of the season in a fast rough contest that saw Captain Waddie Woods star for the Indians on a day of crowd unrest. Lefty Metcalf pitched superbly until the sixth inning when Minor and Bolin aided by an error allowed three Tiger runs. Nelson for the Tigers pitched well but costly plays by Grovers and Walker helped the Indians score three in the seventh leading to a 5 3 win. Robins announced no more of the crowd trouble and praised Bolin and Wilgus while lauding Toppenish as the league’s strongest team with the Indians unlikely to lose again. A local ad for McGee’s Baby Elixir closes the piece, noting the baby girl born to Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Cooper of Naches.

Herculean Task to Release Hulk of Ship Maine
Washington June 13 Now that the bill for raising the hulk of the old battleship Maine has passed and been signed there is much speculation on how the wreck will be raised. Three prior attempts have failed and engineers are skeptical though John Arbuckle claims Havana harbor conditions favor salvage. Different schemes are proposed including cofferdams and compressed air methods with hydroelectric magnets and submarine pontoons as possible aids.
