Secretary Ballinger broadens the policy of selling public coal lands at coal values with revised classifications and valuations. The United States Geological Survey emphasizes coal land separation, highlighting higher-grade coal areas and minimum rates for low-grade beds amid notable increases in land values, including a Montana Roundup township example.
