Prices Seen For Early Alexanders In North Yakima Market
Prices for peaches in North Yakima hint at fifty cents a box for Early Alexanders with no firm figures yet. Elberta and Crawford peaches may fetch higher sums, while very early fruit remains unlikely to command strong prices. Apples start at about $1.50 a box for standard, rising modestly for fancy packs, with a ceiling near $1.75. Manager Sampson notes the season is early and estimates are tentative, expecting first peach shipments within ten days and prices near fifty or even forty cents a box.
