Opening Event at Commercial Club in New Quarters
The Commercial Club opened its new quarters in the Clegg building with a ball and banquet attended by over 200 guests. Ira P. Englehart spoke, L. H. Clegg responded, and the Women's Club led the evening with speeches and performances by Mrs. Vestal Snyder, Mrs. Louis Lesh, Miss Daisy Boyle, and Mrs. Guy McL. Richards.

Republicans Recommend Two For State Fair Seat
The Yakima county committee met at United States Commissioner Howlett's office and, after calling by Chairman Cameron, recommended two applicants to fill the vacancy left by J. M. Baxter on the state fair commission. The candidates are J. E. Shannon of Nob Hill and J. H. Frazer of North Yakima. If Dr. T. B. Gunn resigns, his seat may be filled by one of the party’s nominees. New committee members added include Tilton Phillips Mabton J O Clark Natchez Ira P Englehart second ward North Yakima and Nelse Short third ward North Yakima.

Shipped 4000 Sheep by Vessey and McRae
Vessey and McRae sent their first train load of sheep to the Chicago market on Monday, totaling 4000 head. This represents about half of their expected eastbound shipments for the month. Dr. Bugbee inspected the flock in Prosser on Sunday and found all animals in good health.
