Jones tours Olympia as state fair building praised
Henry T. Jones of Olympia, chair man of the state board of control, visited the city after Ellensburg. He inspected the new state fair horticultural building and said it is first class and so well built the contractor may lose money. The building will be turned over to the state fair commissioners when payments are complete. He noted possible board recommendations for the next legislature and Yakima may receive better treatment.

Proceedings Dismissed in Contempt Case Against Stewart
Contempt of court proceedings against W. McF. Stewart of Outlook were dismissed. The Cascade Lumber Company case is set for hearing September 4 before Judge Kauffman. Stewart had been arrested on a bench warrant and was given priority in the short session. he failed to appear previously, but the contempt charges were dropped after a conference of attorneys and the court.

Two Drown in Mill Creek Near Santa Cruz
In Santa Cruz California Hazel Riley a 12 year old girl drowned while bathing in Mill Creek about 21 miles from the city. Joe Munroe a tiebreaker? time maker was drowned attempting to save her. Both deaths occurred this afternoon according to local reports.

North Yakima to Get New Pastor Next Year
North Yakima will have a new pastor next year as Rev. Alfred H. Henry becomes a supernumerary at the end of his current year with the local Methodist Episcopal church. He will not retire from the ministry but will effectively step back while remaining a minister. The bishop will appoint his successor at the annual conference after reports and finances are settled. Henry will preach both morning and evening on the last two Sundays before the conference.
