Runaway Horse Overtaken by Auto on Brownell Road
A hunting party returning from Knights Landing in Oscar Whitehouse’s auto saw a runaway horse attached to an empty buggy. They pursued and stopped the horse, forming a line across the road with blankets and robes. the driver had been thrown out but fled as the horse was haltered.

Electric Dredger Works in Reed Orchard at Broderick
An electric dredger operated by the West Sacramento Company digs sand from the Sacramento river to fill a five acre tract on the Reed orchard in Broderick. The land is low and unprotected from floods. several pear trees have already been cut down. The Reed orchard is one of the oldest in the state.

Splendid Flight by Aviator Kerns Over Woodland
Thaddeus Kerns an 18 year old Chico flyer flew over Woodland in a self made biplane at about a mile a minute from 700 to 350 feet. The flight lasted from 10 45 to 11 00 am covering about 15 miles with graceful dips. Hundreds watched as banks and shops paused and the aviator praised ideal conditions and promised more demonstrations Sunday.
