Lice Recover Two Stolen Automobiles

Two stolen cars were recovered by local police within the township. The first, owned by Fred Clark of Asbury Park, was found on Cleveland Avenue near Koy Avenue after a friend recognized it. The second vehicle, belonging to John Hammill of Rahway, was found on a road off Poor Road, its tires, battery, glass and other valuables stripped.

7 361 Voters Registered In Township for Fall Election

A total of 7 361 voters were registered across nineteen districts in three wards after election boards completed the permanent registry following census data showing over 25 000 population. Voters not registered by sessions have until October 6 to register at the township clerk's office.

Mrs William Messick to Head Woodbridge Legion Auxiliary

Mrs William Messick was re elected president of the Ladies Auxiliary of Woodbridge Poet No 97 American Legion at the first fall meeting held Monday night at Memorial Municipal Building. New members welcomed six in all. Officers elected include Selma Christensen first vice president Vincent Weaver second vice president Rudolph Voelker secretary Harold Whitaker chaplain Roland Sprague sergeant at arms and E M Wendell historian. A public card party at the Memorial Municipal Building is planned for early next month.

Woman Struck On Amboy Avenue. Minor injuries reported

Nelson Kelly of Morris Plains told Desk Sergeant George Balint at 7 40 PM Monday that while driving south on Amboy avenue near Albert street he struck Mary Lengyel of 296 Amboy avenue as she ran into the street. Lengyel was treated for slight bruises by Dr L T Spencer.

Electrification plans eyed for Rahway Perth Amboy branch

Engineering staff at the Pennsylvania Railroad is compiling cost figures for electrifying the Rahway Perth Amboy branch serving Woodbridge. Officials say no definite plans exist yet though work on the main line continues. Citizens expect rapid transit boosts to development and regional ties to New York and New Jersey cities.

New Dates Set for Refuse Collection in Districts

The board of health announces a new garbage collection system starting October 1. One weekly pick up will occur per district with Woodbridge north of Main on Monday and south of Main on Tuesday. Ford, Hopseawn Wednesday. Iselin and Avenel Thursday. Sewaren and Port Reading Friday. Citizens should place garbage at the curb the night before.

Rothfuss Couple Begin Newport Trip and Cleveland Study

Dr and Mrs Rothfuss depart on a motor vacation through Virginia to the Orile Clinic in Cleveland Ohio where Dr Rothfuss will continue his studies. They expect to return October 2 with Dr Joseph Gutowski from Grace Avenue Perth Amboy serving in his absence.
