Eight year old Gerald Swanick of Fords ran into the rear door and fender of a car driven by Elizabeth Lukacs 18 of Hansen avenue Jorda as she turned from New Brunswick avenue onto Hoy avenue He was bruised on the forehead and treated at Dr Gauzzas office in Fords before being sent home
Funeral services for Mrs. Jane M. Dunigan of 30 Green Street Woodbridge were held yesterday morning at her home and at St. James Church. Interment followed in St. James cemetery. Survived by two daughters Anna and Mrs James J Dunne, a son George F, a brother William H Finn, and seven grandchildren. Former Jane Finn, she was active in St. James church, Red Cross, and local charities. Her husband Thomas F Dunigan died in 1921. she died after a long illness.
Reverend Niedermeyer spoke at the Middlesex Hotel Rotary luncheon describing George Washington as a methodical, record keeping founder who profited from his farm except during his presidency. He outlined Washington’s role as County Surveyor and the planning of the Federal City in Washington, D. C. as a landmark in city planning and zoning.

The regular monthly missionary session of the Women’s Auxtragy of the First Presbyterian church met Wednesday afternoon in the Sunday school room. Mrs A G Firth of New York, a former member, led the program titled The American Negro and the African. The session opened with a call to worship read by Mrs William Rowe. A food sale was conducted by the auxiliary to support its efforts.
Local committee urges petitions on grade crossings in the township to be in by March 2. Petitions may be filed with Attorney Nathan Duff, Attorney Andrew D. Desmond, Fred R. Ballwin, or Rev. Carl C. E. Mellberg at Woodbridge locations.
Woodbridge High School orchestra will present a March 9 program at the high school auditorium featuring The Enchanted Castle by Henry Hadley and The Valse des Fleurs from the Nutcracker Suite. Performances include Rose March from Brahms, Delibes Sylvia selections, Donizetti Sextette from Lucia, Poupee Valante, and Bach Spring's Awakening with soloists Irma Bufflap June Kidd Donald Lella and more. Thirty five men arrested in Rampling raids were brought before Judge J W Vogel in police court Monday night. Cataldo Simone of 358 Fulton Street was fined twenty five dollars and costs for allowing gambling on his premises. Frank Manganara of a Malin Street pool room was dismissed for lack of evidence. All defendants were severely reprimanded and warned that future gambling arrests would face no leniency.
The Board of Education passed a resolution to draw 85000 from township funds for eight weeks starting March 1, part of 116848.70 in district taxes remaining after February requisition. Inclement weather prompted school closures from Wednesday to Monday February 26 to conserve coal. A resignation from nurse Mrs Fr K Sullivan of Woodbridge was noted with regrets. Reports from attendance officers nurses and Supervising Principal Victor A Nicklas were read and approved.
The Rosary Society of St James church will host a monster card party next Tuesday evening February 27 in St James auditorium. High score prizes include a bag of polio toes, cash, a hand embroidered item, a cake and large cards. Co chairmen Mrs James Somers and Mrs Edward Einhorn head a large committee listing many members. Refreshments will be served.
Local Woodbridge officers and residents form a bowling team at Craftamen’s Club maple ab faze Govennhont Woodbridge. Instructor Andy Simonsen says the squad is learning fast and several players show early promise amid playful nicknames and a growing team spirit.
In a lengthy 1934 budget session at Memorial Municipal building Woodbridge officials lowered several line items including road department from 50000 to 40000 and tax collection from 17000 to 16500. Taxpayers association leader William J. Coughlin pressed deeper cuts while Mayor Greiner defended road funding amid rural road complaints. A proposed Amboy avenue gas station faced resident opposition.

Emily Lawrence of Woodbridge, daughter of Mrs. May Lawrence of Rahway, married James Van Gordondy of Sussex last night at the Presbyterian manse in West Milford. The Rev. Mac Murray officiated. The bride wore flesh colored crepe with matching accessories and was given in marriage by her uncle William H. Lawrence. Attendant Hina Bernh of Avenel wore a blue crepe frock. Best man Merrit Decker, a longtime friend of the groom, attended. After a wedding trip, the couple will reside in Sussex.
The Township of Woodbridge plans to issue 160.00 worth of Pax Anticipatia bonds to cover town salaries and debts. The bonds will be dated May and may be redeemed within the year depending on revenue received by the township.
