In police court Judge Vogel sentenced restaurant owner Domenic Cavallaro to a $50 fine, orders to close and leave town after a raid on his Fords restaurant and a card game with seven patrons. The eight residents of Fords were fined $1 each. Police, led by Sergeant Larson and officers, seized cards and cash and released detainees except Cavallaro, who faced a broader warning against gambling fronts. Police also raided a Colonia home for illegal liquor, seizing seven one gallon bottles and two ten gallon kegs. Derosa fined $25 and Stephen Mace May $100, underscoring a continued effort against organized vice.
