Two truckloads of household items arrived at the Memorial Building as Riverside families from Burlington faced relocation. Officials said Riverside broke an informal agreement by refusing aid beyond a set residency period, while Breckenridge and Maloney sought housing for the affected families.
A large blaze broke out early yesterday in a Sewaren garage and distillery at 657 West Avenue, owned by fwmsha. The structure and contents were destroyed while Fire Company No. sent crews, with Patrolman Ibert Levi leading the investigation. No occupants were inside at the time. authorities identified John Romano of Eliza as a person of interest.

A Sunday crash on the superhighway injured three people. Joseph Bertram of 944 Bergen Street Newark drove into Florence Warner's car, operated by Max Warner of 613 Second Avenue Bradley Beach, as Warner's party rode north. The Rahway Memorial Hospital treated Fannie Warner, Murray Weiner, and Tra Weiner. both cars suffered heavy damage.

A fire of unknown origin broke out after nine o clock Monday night partially destroying the Echo Inn at the corner of Rahway Avenue and Prospect Avenue in Woodbridge. The Woodbridge Fire Company No 1 extinguished the blaze within a half hour. the unoccupied building is owned by Mrs Matasick of 72nd Street and Second Avenue New York City. Patrolman William Romond investigated.
Woodbridge Post 87 of the American Legion outlined plans at a 60-member meeting to stage a Washington Bi-Centennial celebration. Projected events include a mock British retreat reenactment from June 25–26 with participation from Perth Amboy, Carteret, Piscataway, New Brunswick, Metuchen, Rahway, Westfield, and Plainfield, tracing routes past Washington Rock and colonial sites.

A car fire of unknown origin totally destroyed a Harage and Chevrolet sedan owned by Edw Kennedy of Av nel Avenue Avenel. The Avenel Fire Company No 1 responded at 1 30 AM Monday but could not save the property. Patrolman George Leonard investigated.
Thomas J. Leahy of 19 Harreh Avenue Woodbridge filed papers with district clerk K C Engign as candidate for the Woodbridge Board of Education at the next Tuesday election. He ran two years ago, losing to Mark D. McClain by a small margin. Leahy, 43, is married to Elizabeth Wallace and is active with Burns Lane and Richardson heating and plumbing, Perth Amboy. He heads Steam Hitters and Plumbers Union Local 270 and sits on the Building Trades Council of Perth Amboy.

Joachin Wolk of South River injured when a car driven by Fred Liedermann of Newark struck a parked car on the highway near Hirame Farm Service Station in the Avenel section. He suffered two leg fractures and abrasions. both cars were damaged. attendant Frank Doras escaped injury.

District Clerk E C Ensign announced ten petitions for the three vacant Board of Education seats. Incumbents Anna Belle Baker Ernest C Moffett and Maurice P Dunigan seek re election. Other nominees include Henry C Brown Morrison Christie James Currid William F Godson Laura C Huber Thomas J Leahy Sigurd T Peterson. Iselin Colonia Sewaren and Woodbridge are represented on the ballot. The election is Tuesday night and observers expect a close result.
Mrs. Ernest H. Boynton, Christmas Seal chairman, urges prompt payment on November mailed seals. County total reaches 12000 dollars and Woodbridge 390.47 with 9000 letters still out. She warns that budget cuts threaten services as nursing reports show 3300 patients aided and over 200 in institutional care.
Robert H. Sonid of Park Avenue Newark struck and injured Martin Kolbusch 49 of Halland Street Newark while driving a National Spring and Welding truck on the Lincoln Highway. Patrolman Attien McDonnell said Kolbusch stood behind a parked truck near Talmadge Avenue Iselin. Snow blocked vision and a passing car prevented Sonid from passing. Kolbusch was taken to Perth Amboy General Hospital for cuts and bruises. Schild’s car was damaged in the front.
James Hughes 24 of Avenel Lawrence Keating 26 of Woodbridge and Allen Leison 8 of Woodbridge were injured when their car skidded on snow and hit a tree in Madison. Hughes received 12 stitches and all three were knocked unconscious. An assessed increase of 924471 in township ratables for 1932 announced by the Township Board of Asneaaore.
A large crowd is expected at a second dance in a popular series at Columbian Hall on Main Street. Alexander's Ragtime Band, a 45-piece orchestra, will provide music. refreshments will be served. Henry Newry chairs the organizing committee.
Fire damaged a car and a truck in a Holly street garage near Marlon Ha gaman Heights Port Reading. The Port Reading Fire Company No 1 answered the alarm and extinguished the blaze. Patrolman Joseph Maksinsky investigated the scene.
