McCone County Wins Medals at Richland Fair
McCone county placed second for county exhibits at the Richland County Fair. Dawson took first, McKenzie County third, and Daniels fourth. Walter Good, H R Remnemer, and Harry Hogar led the McCone booth with 120 exhibits winning 26 ribbons including 16 corn ribbons. Finley Smith Re-Arrested After Poplar River Pursuit
Finley Smith fled from a Poplar cafe last week after leaving his party. He outran lawmen, waded the Poplar river near the railroad and hid in dense underbrush along the bank. He abandoned hat and coat on the riverbank before authorities recovered him.

Suit Tried Before Judge Gordon Over $100 Post Dated Check
J. K. Bramble won a civil suit against C. B. Berglund in Judge Gordon's court on Sept. 15. Berglund, represented by W. L. Rose of Poplar, allegedly gave Bramble a $100 post dated check that was later stopped. The case arose from an injury to Robert Aoe who fell from a wagon owned by O. Bergland. Bramble sought $300 as fair compensation, claiming the check was given in good faith to cover expenses. The check returned unpaid.

Bauer Baby Dies From Scalds In Tragic Accident
Eugene Les Bauer, one year old, died after a hot coffee spill scalded him last Saturday. The child, beloved son of Ambrose and Mrs Bauer, had moved to Fairweather Street with five sisters nearby. Funeral services were held Thursday at First Lutheran Church, Rev. O R A Tollefson presiding. four pallbearers and flowers accompanied the service.
