County Commissioners Plan Action Over Delinquent Taxes

The Roosevelt county board discussed delinquent tax shares from Sheridan and Daniels counties. It instructed the county attorney to sue to recover the pro rata tax money. The board also approved buying a safe for the Treasurer's office and adjourned to a special session on October 26.

Mitchells Attend Chinook Gathering

Mr and Mrs Martin Mitchell returned Sunday evening from Chinook where they attended the Siths anniversary celebration of the battle between Chint Joseph and General Miles the last battle between the whites and the Indians. They visited the Fort Belknap reservation in the Little Rockies and were guests of Mr and Mrs Malcolm McIver whose sheep ranch adjoins the battlefield.

C. W. Hamblin who has led Wolf Point broadcasting from station KGCX Vida announces no further broadcasts from Wolf Point until further notice. He has spent much time on the work but says he cannot continue without support from other local business men.

Leavitt to Push Wolf Point Bridge Project

Congressman Scott Leavitt urged support for a free traffic bridge linking Wolf Point south of the Missouri River. He toured both riverbanks with local club members and discussed federal highway system integration and future multiple bridges to boost regional development.

Wolves Fall to Glasgow in Season Opener

In Glasgow last Saturday the Wolves lost 14 to 0 as Glasgow overwhelmed Wolf Point with a stronger line and timely scores. Captain Roy Cusker led Wolf Point’s defense with Littlefield and Coombe sharing top honors. Vinson and Vinson’s injury shifted signals, and Osccar Tuck led the Wolf Point backfield.

Rathert And Cogswell Drive To Denver And Livingston

Fred Rathert and S. T. Coze Well left Sunday by car for Denver to visit Rathert’s wife in a sanitarium. Alma Cogswell rode with them to Glendive and then took a train to Livingston to visit Dr. and Mrs. Huber. They dined at the Paul Fay home in Vida. A card from Mr. Cogswell read from Bowman North Dakota that they traveled 235 miles Sunday and planned to reach the Black Hills Monday night.

Volt Community Fair Rescheduled for October 14

The Volt Benrud Wiileake community fair, postponed due to heavy snow, now set for Friday October 14. Prizes include five dollars for butter and other premiums. organizers expect good weather to draw townspeople to Nels Lund’s north of Volt for a day of exhibits and keen competition.
