Roosevelt county voters face a blast from the Poplar Standard over county officials and canvassing board actions. The piece accuses officials of seizing power, overturning votes, and declaring voters irrelevant while warning that Poplar is unfit to be county seat.
Knute Fenne, a disfranchised Volt voter, was in town Tuesday and urged allowing the law to run its course against individuals who refused to count votes in his precinct.
The county board of canvassers met in Poplar to finalize the Nov 7 results. Objections from Dr. Atkinson of Poplar targeted Bainville Wolf Point and Oldtown precincts over voting places and alleged irregularities, leading to executive sessions and delays and a final tally of multiple precincts still unsettled.
President Harding designates November 30 as a day of Thanksgiving urging nationwide observance. He recalls past trials and triumphs, calls for gratitude for divine Providence and national peace, and urges people to worship and petition for continued blessings and humanity’s advancement.
Cold nights stop the Missouri river ferry operation at the local crossing. On Tuesday the large boat was removed and laid up for winter. If weather does not worsen, the river will not be frozen enough for team crossings for some time.

The Liberty theater hosts a vaudeville program on Tuesday evening December 5 under the Woman's Club. Headliners include Thornton and Rae the Darktown duo, with feature dances musical numbers by Wolf Point talent, two Listerud coached playlets, and a wardrobe show promising a novel spectacle for locals.
Young's Cafe will be the name of the new eating house planned for Wolf Point. The Arcade is closed for remodeling with booths removed and interior improvements under way. The cafe aims to open by Thanksgiving with E Phillians from Williston, N D, in active management promising top meals and service.
The Woman's Club plans a monthly program and business meeting in the high school assembly room next Tuesday evening at 8. All women are invited. The health program includes songs, plays, recitations, papers, talks and health films featuring the Fourth Grade, Third Grade, Mrs Listerud, Ruth Herman, Alfredia Hagen, Mrs Schoening and Mrs Marshall.
Mrs Zada Butler touring Roosevelt County examined 2316 children finding 4000 defects mainly dental decay and enlarged tonsils. Nine active tuberculosis cases were found, four adults among them, with two already sent to Galen. Red Cross funds are unused in the county, and Christmas seal sales support clinics. The Wolf Point coal sale proceeds fund health work with sales running through December.
Deputy Reece traveled to Poplar from Wolf Point to compel the county canvassing board to appear in Helena at ten o clock Monday November 27 to show cause why election returns from Precincts 3 28 and 31 were not canvassed. The orders came from the State Supreme Court following action by Norris Hurd and Rhoades of Great Falls. Commissioner Leeson opposed the move, placing him in a different status from Patch and Tidland.
