Rural Correspondence From Our Rural Patrons
The Reichert family moved to the Point for the winter as Emmit Carroll spends much time there this week. Miss Marjorie Jenkins joined Green's outing, a jolly crowd danced at Liberty schoolhouse, and Mark Blankenship heads to Minnesota soon after news of his father’s illness. A Pie social and dance at the French school on November 29 supports a new barn project.

Summer Fallow vs Summer Tillage Debate in Montana
The November Montana Development Association bulletin argues against confusing summer fallow with summer tillage. It defines summer fallow as plowing early and leaving land idle, while summer tillage includes early plowing plus ongoing cultivation to control weeds and release plant nutrients. It asserts tillage yields more and improves soil fertility, contrasting the two methods with an extended analogy and urging farmers to adopt scientifically informed practices for higher production.
