Roosevelt County leaned Republican in most local races though several contests remained tight. Major figures included Lucy Curran losing the state representative race. Margaret Inglehart winning reelection. and S B Pant defeating J J Gunther for judge. Governor Erickson led Roosevel t County voting while Ward results varied.

The Wolf Point Women's club and the American Legion Auxiliary will hold a joint banquet at the Sherman hotel next Tuesday evening. Guests include Mrs J H Morrow state Legion Auxiliary president. A bicentennial program marks the 200th anniversary of George Washington's birth. tickets are 65 cents each. A small fire at the Ward 1 polling place was extinguished by residents. coals in ashes ignited Russian thistles and narrowly avoided a larger fire.

Ye Old Tyme Singers Concert at Presbyterian Church

The Old Tyme Singers will perform at the Presbyterian church on Wednesday November 16 at 5 o clock with singers in old fashioned clothes and other features. Admission is ten cents and lunch will be served in the basement after the program. George Schmidt was in town from Lustre country today.

Vida Bank Closes Under State Resolution

The First State Bank of Vida is closed and placed under state banking department control with Rodney H. Kurth as liquidating agent. Depositors were promised 20 percent this fall, 30 percent in 1933, and 50 percent in 1934, but plummeting farm prices and loan defaults forced the suspension after years of service to the Vida community.
