Fifth District Women Convene Here in District Meet

A large gathering of federation club women from the fifth district arrives Friday for their annual convention with delegates from Poplar Culbertson and other clubs. A banquet at the Sherman and a Saturday program at the Presbyterian church feature talks music and reports by district officers.

Firemen Host City Officials at Wolf Point Station

Wolf Point fire department held a social session after a regular meeting at the new station with Mayor and city council, Commercial Club officers, city attorney, police chief, judge, pumping station manager, and an ex firefighter as guests. Officials praised Chief Smith and the department for efficiency and discussed fire prevention efforts involving schools and citizens.

Roosevelt totals show county edge for Weinrich backers

County precincts 31 of 33 report totals with missing No 21 and No 7 Tunison and Dwyer. Tunison about even, Dwyer heavily for League. Weinrich appears to lead Anderson by six in county totals. Bainville Wins Roosevelt County Straw Vote For County Seat

West End towns report Poplar 1319 Wolf Point 1224 Bainville 1106 in latest Mondak totals. A staged straw vote, arranged by Culbertson and Bainville, swung support eastward and cost Wolf Point votes. Bainville emerges as the apparent county seat winner amid the sensational 1920 race.

Circle wins McCone county seat contest by 44 votes

Unofficial tallies from 35 precincts show Circle leading Vida with 1122 to 1088 and a margin not less than 34, with Anderson of Circle and John A Green of Vida confirming the result by long distance. Official counts and potential contests may alter the outcome.

Republicans Triumph Across Nation In Election Wave

A tidal wave swept Republicans to power nationwide and in Montana. Harding won the presidency by a large popular vote, carrying at least 35 states. Republicans gained control of Congress after March 4. Dixon leads Wheeler in Montana, with strong showings for other Republican ticket candidates.

Unofficial precinct results name Peter Rorvick as senator over Boardman with Hoover winning county attorney and Lind taking commissioner. Judge Hurley carried McCone county for district judge though Lieper may win the district. Funeral for Gila Anderson held at Presbyterian church with burial in Greenwood. Family survivors listed and Methodist Ladies Aid to host monthly supper November 10 inviting all.

Winships Strike Deep Water Well on Farm Run 12 Miles Out

Mr and Mrs C H Winship celebrate a successful drilling on their farm twelve miles northeast. After many attempts they found a well with water at about 200 feet depth of high quality and softness. The water rises well and this marks the end of their water hauling days.
